2012 Chevrolet Equinox vs. 2012 Ford Escape

The next vehicle featured in Rydell Chevrolet's blog is the Chevy Equinox. Today we compare the 2012 model to the 2012 Ford Escape.

Comfort wise the Chevy Equinox is ahead of the Escape, offering its passengers more room to stretch out and enjoy their ride. Both models have a seating capacity of 5. The vehicles are priced very similarly with the Equinox's MSRP being roughly $1,000 less than the Ford Escape according to thecarconnection.com. Gas mileage is also pretty similar, with the Equinox having the advantage in that category as well as it is able to offer up to 4 more miles to the gallon on the highway. The Equinox scored higher in frontal crash rating, side crash rating, and overall safety rating than the Escape, with the Equinox being 2 stars ahead in side crash rating and 1 star ahead in the other two according to newcars.com

Overall the Ford Escape receives lower total ratings than the Chevy Equinox.
