Spring is in the Air! Tips on Cleaning Your Ride

It's that time of year again. Time to tuck away the ice scraper and clean out all the trash in the backseat that accumulated over the cold winter months. Now is the perfect time to spend some time and make your vehicle shine in the sun this spring. Here is a list of some tips on what should all be done:

Interior

  1. Clear the Clutter. Throw away things or store things you don't really need anymore. The result will be a much more spacious interior and you'll feel great the next time you hop in.
  2. Clean the INSIDE of your windows. Over the winter months the outside of your windows may have been taken care of, but chances are you didn't touch the interior side of your windows once. Doing this will result in much cleaner glass that will increase your visibility and appearance of your ride.
  3. Protect your inside from the sun. Now with less clutter in your car and cleaner windows there is going to be a lot more sun entering your ride. Combat the sun and protect your leather/plastic surfaces by heading to your nearest store and purchasing some lotions that will protect your interior.
  4. Remember, it's allergy season. That means vacuum and vacuum often. This will help get rid of built up pollen in your vehicle that could worsen your allergies

Exterior
  1. As obvious as washing your car is for spring cleaning, it may not be enough. You may notice that after a personal wash your exterior still looks cloudy and faded, however this look may not be permanent. Calling professionals may be your next best bet to really get that sparkle back for your vehicle.
  2. Put a fresh coat of wax on after the car has been washed up to your standards! This is both great protection and also makes the color of your vehicle really pop.

Under the Hood/Underside
  1. Fluid levels. Monitor these and see what has been neglected over the dark winter months. Having all of your fluid levels filled up will ensure the safe operation of your vehicle and reduce chances for any kind of accident.
  2. Crawl underneath your car and see if there has been any damage to your vehicle over the winter months. Especially look for corrosion and rust build-up. If you aren't sure if any real damage has been done make a pit stop at your local dealership or other professional and have them take a look
